Blog EntrySpeaking Out Against the Culture of DeathApr 1, '08 2:27 PM
for everyone
More people are speaking out against the disgusting pro-abortion advocacy of Rina Jimenez-David's column in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Jimenez-David has been sinking further into the depths of the Culture of Death. There was a time when she would not openly advocate for abortion, preferring to avoid uttering any outright condemnation of it. But now it seems she has lost even that pretense.

Below is the text of a letter sent ot the Editor of the Inquirer. It's message should not be lost on us. The next victims of the Culture of Death could be our own yet-to-be-born relatives.

Dear Editor,

Rina Jimenez-David, after using the American pro-abortion mantra “Reproductive Rights” for years, has finally come out explicitly in favor of abortion by approvingly quoting Mexican sociologist Roberto Blancarte on March 19, “The ability of women . . .to end an undesired pregnancy goes hand in hand with the existence of a lay state that guarantees that freedom of conscience . . .”

Charles Moore in a reflection in the London Daily Telegraph on March 22 on the 40th anniversary of Pope Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae points out how Paul’s predictions were correct: “Judging by the divorce and illegitimacy rates, it would be hard to argue, as people used to, that family planning has saved marriage. The number of teenage pregnancies shows that the contraceptive culture has not protected young girls very successfully.

“States have indeed forced people into birth control. China's one-child policy has so altered the shape of the family and the psychology of each child that its rising generation may well threaten the peace of the world.

“As for science, it is now clear that there are no agreed limits about when an embryo may be created, altered or destroyed. People are becoming products.”

Rina Jimenez-David has sneered in the past at family as understood in every culture since the dawn of time until now, one involving man and woman in a committed and publicly recognized relationship, whether in monogamous, polygamous or polyandrous forms, taking responsibility for their children.

Your pro-abortion columnist wondered out loud some years ago whether it was proper for a teenage boy to drape his arm around an older female relative. What a strange order of values.

Yours sincerely,

Isn't it just sad when people regard the creation of human life so insignificant, and the act leading to it relegated as weekend recreation, that killing a human being in its earliest form has become so arbitrary as to be merely given a label like "reproductive rights"? It's bloody murder, plain and simple.

What's the world coming to?

To add: Before reading this post, I just finished marathoning the first season of Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles -- the series based on the Terminator movies. It's columnists like Rina David who make me wish that maybe machines really should wipe out humanity and take over, since an increasing number of humanity already seems to think like machines anyway, regard procreation as a mere production line, with unwanted products merely disposed of. At least machines have an excuse by not having souls. What's humanity's excuse?

It's people like Rina David who make me think that humanity really doesn't deserve their God-given rights and freedoms, exercising them with such vulgarity without taking responsibility for the consequences.

It's people like Rina David that make me ashamed to be human.

You would wipe out the entire human race because of the deficiencies of a few? There is always hope. That said, it is very sad that some people do not regard having children like the miracle it is. It should not be viewed as a right, but as a blessing that is not given to everyone.

BTW, I want that Terminator series you promised. I have a LOT of free time coming up.

I have known of a number of people (couple of them friends) who have unfortunately had to go thru the process of an abortion and I will NEVER, EVER call and think of them as murderers. If God is truly the God us Christians are taught to believe in, then I'm sure God is capable of forgiving these actions if there is no malice. Yes, there are grey areas. Yes, I am pro-choice.

Anti-abortion people should also be pro-family planning. If a guy is anti-abortion and anti-family planning, then he really needs to get laid... hehehe... :p

Killing an innocent human being is plain MURDER. A sin can be forgiven if there's repentance, but that doesn't make it any less a sin.

To choose to murder the innocent and then justify the murder in the name of "choice", however, is truly monstrous.

Being prolife doesn't mean you have to be promiscuous and use contraceptives. That's just being dumb. Being truly responsible means being able to control your urges, not the other way around.

Yeah, Go Manny! I totally agree. "Juno" was a good movie because even if she did have the "choice" and the means to have her baby aborted, she chose not to. I totally agree, abortion IS murder.

I agree 100%. Abortion is murder.

“How can infanticide be wrong and abortion be a basic right? Both mean the killing of a baby, and both represent the Culture of Death at its most deadly.” Dr. R.
